SMART Bilingual Primary and Nursery School
The students at SMART Bilingual Nursery and Primary School are driven by a passion for learning and a determination to achieve their dreams. With each successfully completed grade level, they move closer to turning those dreams into reality. Together, we strive to empower these young learners with the resources and encouragement they need to thrive.
SMART Bilingual and Nursery Primary School was started in Babenga, littoral region of Cameroon in 2019 to accommodate the influx of internally displaced persons(IDPs) from the North west and Southwest regions due to the ongoing Anglophone crisis in Cameroon. The current school enrollment is about 500 students and that includes a nursery section and primary school within the same complex. In addition to the standard government issued curriculum, the staff encourages students to practice extracurricular activities such as farming and sports activities. The students boast of their own farm which they nurture and are very proud of.

The 44.5 Foundation launched a regular support initiative to benefit the SMART Bilingual Nursery and Primary School in the Babenga area of Cameroon. Over the past three years, we have proudly contributed to the school’s growth and success through various impactful donations and programs.
Our support has included:
- Supplying staff uniforms to foster a professional and unified environment.
- Donating a flat-screen TV equipped with high-speed internet to facilitate distance learning and global exchange programs.
- Providing computers to enhance the school’s tech laboratory, promoting digital literacy.
- Contributing over 2,000 books and assorted didactic materials to enrich the school library and inspire a love for learning.
- Assisting more than 50 at-risk children with tuition support, ensuring access to education for those in need.
Our involvement extends beyond material contributions. We proudly sponsor the annual Christmas party and the end-of-academic-year jamboree, events that bring joy and celebration to the students, staff, and their families.
The 44.5 Foundation’s impact has left a lasting impression on the SMART school community, strengthening the bonds between us and fostering a brighter future for the children we serve. Together, we continue to inspire dreams and nurture success.
